About the Owners

The Bierbaums: The We bought our 41-foot Lord Nelson Victory Tug in April 2017. The boat had been named Sheryl Ann after the original owners, James and Sheryl Toews. Sheryl Ann was purchased by Fletcher and Khristy Goldingay in November 2014. In January 2017, we were at the Seattle Boat Show not expecting to buy a boat. We had been chartering boats for years and were half-heartedly looking to buy a boat of our own. We had looked at Ranger Tugs, at American Tugs, and at Nordic Tugs. None seemed quite right. But when we rounded the corner at the Seattle Boat Show and saw Sheryl Ann, we both gasped. We looked at each other and simultaneously said “this is our boat.”

We live on an 80-acre farm on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. We have horses, dogs, cats, and chickens. Brent is a tugboat captain towing freight to Alaska. Peggy Ann is a lawyer practicing law in Port Townsend. For decades, our primary focus was horses, animals and gardening. While we still love all those activities, our passion has become cruising in the Pacific Northwest. Our maiden voyage was to the Broughtons in August 2017.

We did rename the boat. She is now Seahorse and our dinghy is Seacolt. In doing so, we meant no disrespect to the former owners, but just wanted the boat to reflect who we are and our transition from horses to the sea.

Seahorse is moored at the Port Hadlock Marina with our friends and fellow LNVT owners, Bill Rothert and Macy Galbreath

The Goldingays: Fletcher and I met a little over 3 years ago (2011) and immediately bonded through boats.

The Toews: When I was born back in the mid 1950's, my parent's favorite television show was called "Waterfront", starring Preston Foster. It was about a boat captain and his tugboat the "Cheryl Ann".
